BASE BONDING ADHESIVE
DATA SHEET
DESCRIPTION:
RPI Royal Edge Water base Bonding Adhesive is a technically advanced formula designed for
use as a substrate bonding adhesive for single ply roofing membranes. It has excellent
adhesion to most insulation/substrates. It is an acrylic pressure sensitive
adhesive which grows stronger and more tenacious with age, but remains flexible enough
to compensate for the expansion and contraction of the membrane itself. |
SUGGESTED
USES:
Water based bonding adhesive is used to bond single ply roofing membranes, such as EPDM,
CSPE, PVC, and Hypalon
to most roofing substrates.PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Excellent resistance to aging.
Excellent resistance to heat.
24 - 72 hour total cure time
depending on conditions.
Becomes stronger with age.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Adhesives Type: Modified Acrylic
Solvents: Water
Color: White
Net Weight: 8.4 lbs/gal
Solids Content: 68-70%
Viscosity: 4,800 - 5, 100 cps Brookfield RVT
Coverage: 135 sq. ft./gal 6 - 8 mils thick
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Water base bonding adhesive may be applied by sprayer, roller, or by brush. Adhesive
should be applied to both mating surfaces 3- 4 mils thick on each side. If substrate is
porous such as Fiberboard, it is acceptable to wet laminate the
membrane to the substrate. If substrate is non porous such as polyisocyanurate insulation
let the adhesive dry until it becomes clear. Broom, or roll the surface of the membrane to
insure 100% adhesion between membrane and substrate.
NOTE: Water base bonding adhesive is not be used on walls, curbs,
chimney's etc.
POST APPLICATION CLEANUP:
Use water to clean spills, tools, etc.
STORAGE:
Store in original, unopened container, indoors and away from open flames and heat over
80'F. Keep in well ventilated area.
PRECAUTIONARY DATA:
Use in well ventilated area, and avoid breathing of vapors. Familiarize yourself with the
Material Safety Data Sheets for this products. DO NOT ALLOW ADHESIVE TO
FREEZE.
