ROYAL EDGE SELF-ADHERING COVER STRIP

DESCRIPTION:
RPI Royal Edge cover strip is a laminate of Royal Edge Seam Tape and cured Royal Edge EPDM membrane, rolled on a release paper as a "Self-Sticking" cover strip. Royal Edge Seam Tape is a black EPDM rubber based product developed for use with the Royal Edge EPDM roofing membrane. The seam tape has been formulated to provide high green strength in both peel and shear. It is easily applied, offers significant labor savings and avoids the inherent solvent hazards of contact adhesives.

SUGGESTED USES:
RPI cover strip may be used as covers for gravel stop flashing, patching, repairing seams, and reinforcing and redundant seals.

SIZES:
Royal Edge Seam Tape is produced in rolls of 50' & 100' in length with a nominal thickness of 0.045 inches of cured Royal Edge EPDM with a nominal thickness of 0.035 inches of seam tape.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Surface to be bonded shall be clean and dry, for maximum performance must be cleaned first with RPI's Tape Wash, and primed with RPI Seam Tape Primer. Apply seam tape primer with scrub pads. RPI Lap Caulk shall be used at all T-Joints intersections, 4 inch overlaps from one roll onto another. Roll entire cover strip using steel hand roller for 100% adhesion. NOTE: Do not feather or trowel the lap caulk.

HANDLING:

RPI Seam Tapes contain ingredients which could be harmful if ingested. Contact with skin and eyes should be avoided and necessary protective equipment and clothing should be worn.

RECOMMENDED STORAGE:

RPI Seam Tape is a cured product and will not degrade in normal warehouse storage. In time, the release paper may become difficult to remove. For this reason, the recommended shelf life is 12 months. ROTATE STOCK.
